BITTER IS BETTER
The only olive oil tasting community in Amsterdam that showcases the best extra virgins in the world paired with exceptional food.
Is bitter actually better?
GDO olive oil producers have educated consumers to blends that meet everyone's taste and create no questions. In reality, a bitter and spicy olive oil carries a high number of polyphenols that are good for your health. They are antioxidant components that help protect your cells and reduce inflammation. As it turns out, bitter is better!

Why tasting olive oil matters
Every olive oil brings a certain degree of fruitiness, sweetness, bitterness and spiciness that makes it a good or a bad combination with the food of your choice. Its aromas - walnuts, artichokes, fresh grass, tomatoes, kiwi (...) - have the power of enhancing the flavors of a meal as much as toning down a perfect dish. We help you navigate the set of olive oils available in your kitchen or at least know which one to choose in which occasion.
Why extra virgin olive oil?
Despite being a four thousands years old product, and despite being in everyone's plate at least three times a day, olive oil is still a mystery to most.
Extra virgin olive oil holds remarkable nutritional and health benefits for human beings. We think it is worth spreading the word.
